“Mandy Mermaid & Tansy Fish Pattern”

by Sue Pendleton of Bluebeary Treasures

If you've ever wanted to crochet a miniature mermaid, here's your chance! This crochet pattern gives detailed instructions on how to create and assemble Mandy the mermaid, and her little fish friend, Tansy.

Mandy and Tansy were designed by me, Sue Pendleton. The pattern has instructions to create Mandy and Tansy in two sizes. Punch thread, size 12 perle cotton, or size 30 crochet thread used with a size 12 crochet hook will make a 4.5-inch Mandy, and a 2.5-inch Tansy. Size 10 crochet cotton and a size 7 hook will result in a 7-inch mermaid and a 4.5-inch fish.

Instructions are given for wiring Mandy's neck, body, tail, and arms with chenille stems, so she can be posed in many adorable mermaid positions. Her wig is crocheted separately, and then sewn to her head. The pattern also includes instructions for a sweet little bikini top, a tropical flower, a tiara, a necklace, and a lei, so you can mix and match accessories for several different looks. The tiara was created for the smaller version of Mandy, so it will look smaller if you use it for the 7-inch version.

The pattern is extremely detailed, and includes several color photos.
